April 17ththru 19th, San Luis Obispo Bike, Eating & Wine Tasting weekend !

Greetings fellow cyclists!

Well, the BCCClub’s plans for the Central Coast Bike, Eating and Wine Tasting Weekend have been finalized. We are very pleased with the results and hope each of you will join us for this fun, event-packed weekend in the Central Coast’s beautiful Pismo Beach and environs. The weekend festivities will begin on Friday, April 17 and continue through Sunday, April 19.

WEEKEND ACTIVITIES

Friday, April 17
2:30 p.m. - BCCClub Voler "bicycle jersey" factory tour and outlet shopping
5:00 p.m. - Cocktail Reception at Jerri and Bob Young's Home, Grover Beach
7:00 p.m. - Wine Tasting and Dinner at Klondike Pizza

Saturday, April 18
9:00 a.m. - Beautiful Central Coast Bike Ride - 75-mile or 25-mile route option, including SAG support
7:00 p.m. - Al Fresco Dinner at Avila Beach

Sunday, April 19
9:00 a.m. - Beautiful Central Coast Bike Ride - Second 25-mile route, including SAG support

BCCCLUB EVENT FEE
To help defray the various costs associated with this event, the BCCClub will be charging a $20.00 per person “incidentals” fee. Please make your checks payable to “BCCClub” and mail them to Jim Hannon, 510 The Village – No. 304, Redondo Beach, CA 90277.

If you plan to attend, please make your reservations as soon as possible because this weekend falls over Spring Break and we also are told that Cal Poly is sponsoring an Open House over this weekend. As a result, it is our understanding that Hotels will have higher than normal occupancy rates that weekend. Each BCCClub member and guest will be responsible for his/her own reservations and credit card payment. When making your reservation, please tell the Hotel that you are with the BCCClub and are entitled to a 20% group discount. For those of you who wish to share a room and are in need of a “roommate”, please drop me a line so I facilitate same.

The Edgewater Inn is located on the beach in Pismo Beach. There are first floor rooms available for our use, as well as upper floor rooms accessible by several elevators. The Edgewater Inn has a heated swimming pool and whirlpool. There are bike lanes going in both directions immediately outside the Hotel’s entrance. The Hotel is nearby the Amtrak railway station for those members and guests wanting to travel to Pismo Beach by train. The Edgewater Inn also is located within 2 to 3 blocks of several restaurants, making it very convenient for our members and guests who wish to walk to lunch or dinner. The Hotel features a Continental Breakfast, including freshly baked muffins, fresh orange juice, tea and coffee. Hotel check in is 3:00 p.m. and check out is 11:00 a.m., but the Hotel will try to accommodate early check ins and late check outs. If the Hotel cannot accommodate same, they can store luggage for our members and guests.
