(09/26 & 09/27) Ride schedule, go to: http://www.bccclub.org/Calendar.html - Saturday is the “Three Wonderful PV Hills” and then Sunday is our normal Fun ride…I hope to see you there!

The mid-week ride will continue, join our very hilly “advanced” 20+ mile ride on Wednesday starting at “5:00” pm and leaving from the Catalina Coffee, we hope to see you there!

MS offers two days of riding, that range from 15 – 100 miles each day, so there is a ride for everyone. Please consider joining the “BCCClub rides for MS & Robin & Lisa” team, also, club members get free registration by using code “BCCC”.

October 4, 2009 - USA Cycling National Championship

USA Cycling Elite Track National Championship racing – At the velodrome in Carson, CA – If you have an interest in attending this exciting event, let me know and I will pickup group discounts tickets for the Oct 4th race.

they offer a 25, 50 and 62 mile ride, and many opportunities to enjoy great food and wine in the area…this is a very social ride and it fills up fast! Our friends Barbara & Ted will be hosting a post ride BBQ at their fabulous home in Solvang and we (4 rooms under Barb Allen name) are holding several rooms at the Svendsgaard’s Lodge at a discounted rate, call (800) 733-8757 to hold a room in your name and request an entry form. This saves you $5.00 off the entry fee!

Hook Your Thumbs

An important safety measure is always keeping at least one of your thumbs beneath the handlebars. If you can do this, you’ll avoid crashing due to your hands slipping off the bars. This can happen if you hold onto the tops with all your fingers over the handlebars. In this position, if you hit a bump and aren’t prepared, your hands can slip off causing a crash. This common accident can be prevented by simply keeping your thumbs in the right place.
